CUBE music is designed to blur the architectural spaces that we occupy during our waking hours of the day. Whether it be an office cubical, a personal listening space or the subtly defined spaces within an architectural environment. CUBE music is music at the edge of perception, music meant to expand interior space.
Environment - 3 "Stillness" is a meditative cyclic work that continuously folds in upon itself generating an ever subtle sense of calm and grounding. Perfect for mid afternoon listening. Reviews:
""..The Environment 3 work has devastating beauty and healing powers - aside from seeking out music for its own sake, I am always looking for ambient music whose presence for only moments in a work environment (for me as a systems/network engineer + programmer) has the power to free the mind of all interruptions and allow focus. Additionally on Env 3 the voice is so beautiful- Vietnamese no? But especially the concept of the themes folding into themselves and re-emerging is not only intellectually fascinating and satisfying but somehow creates an atmosphere that fosters focus and introspection. And those street sounds, incidental noises loops, and people talking in the distant surrounds are just so fantastic and fantastically orchestrated...""
"What shall i say. After the release of Environment 1 and 2, an even bigger masterpiece. How shall i call it ;
"The New Millenium Meditation". Who's telling that electronic music has no emotion ?Canont wait for Environment part 4."
"Great meditative loop. I actually use this CD periodically for my toddler when he won't go to sleep at night. We get in the car and drive around the neighborhood with this on. Back home in 10mins! :) Happy daddy..."
"Cube 1 was Environment 2; Cube 2 is Environment 3; Environment 1 wasn’t a Cube at all. The naming convention may be a bit confusing but the principle remains the same throughout the Environment series – cool background music and sound that is the very definition of ambient. Whereas Cube 1, “Music for the Working Space,” was more of an abstract sound palette, Cube 2, “Stillness,” has more music in it. That’s not to say we are talking about ordinary music here, not at all. A female voice softly sings, people speak in the background, and soft bass and bell tones ring out. Melancholy strings enter the picture a few minutes in. Yes, there’s a bit more for the ears and the brain to wrap around musically speaking, but it’s still a fair distance from melody in the conventional sense, though notes are discernible, even a key signature perhaps. Still, it’s more about the mood than the structure. 75 minutes pass softly, pleasantly by before you know it." |
